Hope For The Future

These past weeks have been a trial as we try to avoid contacting Covid-19 and then passing it on to someone else by staying at home, and in many cases, alone. Although Church on the Hill has been closed for services, every Sunday Pastor Lorne has called each church family household to minister to us, share scriptures, and pray with and for us. His phone visits have been very much appreciated.

This past Sunday, Pastor Lorne's phone visit included the following scriptures:

  • Jeremiah 29:11
  • Phillipians 1:6
  • Romans 15:13
  • Psalm 32:8
  • Hebrews 12:1 & 2

With the possibility of the church doors opening for services in the coming weeks, Pastor Lorne said this week's scripture picks are meant to offer hope toward the future.

If you would like Pastor Lorne to share a phone visit with you on Sunday or any day, please phone the number on our Contact Us page which goes directly to him.

Where is the Rain?

by Dianne Bonk

The skies have been overcast but very little water has been squeezed out of them! As I was reading the Bible one evening I came upon the last 4 Psalms. Each one encouraged us to Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord. Psalm 147 in particular.
Sing to the Lord with Thanksgiving.
Make music on the harp to the Lord.

Then it goes on to tell us what God does for all nature and the natural things around us. It tells us that He takes pleasure in those that fear him and who Hope in His mercy.
So let us Sing!

How many of us sing to the Lord while we are working, while we are walking, while we are do our daily chores?
Sing!

The earth is so dry now. We need rain.
Sing!
God will cover the earth with clouds and prepare the earth for rain!
Sing Praises to the Lord.
Sing with all our heart and soul.
Let everything that has breath Praise the Lord!

Peace, Sweet Peace

by Dianne Bonk

I was thinking of a song "Come and go with me to my Father's house, where there's peace, sweet peace." This Easter we cannot go to our church house because of the Covid 19 virus, but scripture tells us that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and God inhabits the praises of His people. So--- let's sing, and rejoice, even if you are physically alone, because Jesus is with us. He will never leave nor forsake us. His presence is real. By Faith we know He is present because He is alive. He has risen from the dead, and He is Lord. And we have Peace, sweet peace.
